As the GIS Planner, Bill Palmer assists the Associate University Planner in land use planning projects and provides mapping, graphic design support and geographic analysis for the office. In addition, Bill has also been involved in a variety of programming studies and design and construction projects for infrastructure, buildings, schools and units at UVA. He represents the University on the Charlottesville Planning Commission (non-voting) and the Charlottesville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) Technical Committee. Prior to joining the Office in 2008, Bill was a GIS (geographic information systems) Analyst for TEC, a private consulting firm, in the environmental field, specializing in large-scale infrastructure and construction project planning. Mr. Palmer holds a Masters of Planning and a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia.
