Grace Farms developed the Design for Freedom Pilot Project Program to model more transparent and ethical supply chains. These projects engage project teams, yield new research and partnerships, and uncover challenges and opportunities of how to build more humanely.

On the initiative of the University and the project team of Höweler + Yoon, Hanbury Architects and Hourigan Construction, the Karsh Institue of Democracy has been chosen as a 2024 pilot project. As early adopters of Design for Freedom, Pilot Project teams accelerate the movement by raising awareness of the pressing humanitarian issue of forced labor in the building materials supply chain.
